Submissions Information

Sham of the Perfect accepts submissions for several different types of features. For each of these features we are looking specifically for unposed, unstyled, documentary images. These images can be from your personal archives or from client sessions. Above all, we are looking for interesting images that tell a story and celebrate life in it’s most raw and honest form.

We accept images through our Facebook page and Instagram accounts for monthly community features. To submit on Facebook simply post your favorite documentary family images directly to our Facebook timeline.  Make sure to tag your artist/business page when you post and please limit Facebook submissions to two a month. To submit on Instagram simply tag your image with #shamoftheperfect.

For blog feature, please submit images with no watermark and sized 2000px on the long side (vertical images in dyptich) via the form links at the bottom of the page for one of the following features:

Artist Feature – Submit 10-15 of your favorite documentary images that showcase your personal voice as a documentary photographer.

Project Feature – If you have a unique personal project that utilizes a documentary approach submit 10-15 of your best images from that project and tell us a bit about it.

Featured Session – Submit a series of 10 -15 images from a personal or client session that present a full visual story.

Critique – For critique please submit one image and select 3 of our contributors.  Each of our contributors will provide a full and personal critique of selected submitted images.
